Flex Scale & Fast Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 September 2026
Who we are
Flex Scale & Fast is made by Elixir Consultancy Services Ltd ("ElixirCS", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 05821983. Our address is 7 Croftflat Drive, Fenay Bridge, Huddersfield, HD8 0FS, United Kingdom.
This policy covers the Flex Scale & Fast app for iPhone. Our website has its own Website Privacy Policy.
For any question about privacy, or to make a request about your data, email support@elixircs.com.
The short version
- The app doesn't send any information about you to us. It doesn't use the internet, and we don't run any servers for it.
- Your weights, fasts, goals and Apple Health data stay on your iPhone.
- What the app stores isn't synced with iCloud or included in your iPhone backups.
- There's no account. The app has no analytics, advertising, crash reporting or tracking.
- Information only leaves your iPhone if you export a file or share the diagnostic log yourself.
- The app is free and has no in-app purchases.
What the app keeps on your iPhone
The app stores the following on your iPhone so that it can work. None of it is sent to us.
- Fasts. When each fast started and ended, and the target you chose for it.
- Weights you add in the app. Each weight and the date and time you give it. If you save a weight to Apple Health, it's stored in Apple Health and not in the app. If Apple Health can't save it, the app keeps it instead.
- Goals. Whether you want to lose, maintain or gain weight, your target weight and range, the weekly rate you chose, the date each phase started, and whether readings from before a phase are hidden. When you start a new phase, the earlier goal is kept.
- Your height, if you add it. It's used to work out your BMI on the Weight tab.
- Demo data, if you load it. Made-up weights and fasts, labelled as demo data, which you can remove in Settings.
- Settings. Your choices, such as your weight unit, appearance, accent colour, usual fast target, what the daily map shows, your export options and whether diagnostics are on.
Your fasts, weights, goals and height are kept in a database that is never synced with iCloud and is left out of iPhone backups, including iCloud Backup. This means they are lost if you delete the app or move to a new iPhone, unless you export them first. Your settings can be included in backups, like other app settings. They don't contain any health readings.
The app has no passcode of its own. Anyone who can unlock your iPhone can open the app and see your information.
Apple Health
When you connect Apple Health, iOS asks you what the app may read and write. You can say no, or allow only some types. You can change your choices at any time in the Health app, or in your iPhone's Settings under Privacy & Security, then Health.
The app asks to read:
- weight;
- sleep;
- steps;
- active energy;
- resting heart rate; and
- workouts, including the type of workout, how long it lasted and the active energy it used.
It reads weights from the last five years, sleep from the last 14 days, steps, active energy and workouts from the last 90 days, and your latest resting heart rate.
The only thing it asks to write is weight. It saves a weight to Apple Health only when you add one with Save to Apple Health turned on.
The app uses your Apple Health data on your iPhone to show your charts, daily map, timeline and wins. It doesn't save a copy in its own storage. It reads the data from Apple Health again each time it refreshes. The app never uses Apple Health data for advertising or marketing, and never passes it to anyone. It's only put in a file if you choose to include it in an export.
Apple Health is run by Apple. How Apple stores and syncs your Health data is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.
Where your information goes
- The app has no internet features. It doesn't send your weights, fasts, goals, height or Apple Health data to us or to anyone else, and we can't see them.
- Nothing is uploaded to a server or recorded on one. We don't have a server for this app.
- Your information only leaves your iPhone when you send it yourself, by exporting a file or sharing the diagnostic log.
Exporting and importing
Export makes a file of your fasts, goals and the weights you added in the app, going back as far as you choose. Your goals are always included. If you turn on Include Apple Health data, the file also contains the weights, sleep, daily steps and active energy, and workouts the app has read from Apple Health. The file also records the app's version and when you exported it. Your height, resting heart rate and settings aren't included.
The file isn't encrypted. You choose where it goes using the iOS share sheet, for example to Files, AirDrop or Mail. After that, it's in the care of wherever you put it, so keep it somewhere safe. The app deletes its temporary copy when you close the share sheet.
To import, you pick a file with the iOS file picker, and the app can only open the file you pick. Importing only adds fasts, weights and goals that aren't already on your iPhone. It never deletes or changes what's there. Apple Health data in a file isn't imported.
Diagnostic log
To help fix problems, the app can keep a log of what it was doing, such as reading Apple Health, saving your information, exporting or importing. The log is off by default. Nothing is recorded until you turn on Record diagnostics on the app's Diagnostics screen, which you open by tapping Version in Settings ten times.
The log can include:
- what the app was doing, and the time it happened;
- how many records something involved, such as how many weights were read;
- any error message; and
- the app's version, and whether a goal you saved is to lose, maintain or gain weight.
It never includes your weights, step counts, sleep times, fast lengths, the dates of your readings or any other health readings.
The log is kept in the app's memory and is never saved to a file. Closing the app clears it. While recording is on, the app also writes the same entries to the iOS system log on your iPhone.
The log only leaves your iPhone if you tap Share this log. If you send it to us, we only use it to help with your problem.
Permissions
- Apple Health. Lets the app read the data listed above, so you don't have to type it in, and save the weights you choose to add to Apple Health. If you don't allow it, you can still add weights and fasts yourself.
The app doesn't ask for access to your location, camera, microphone, photos, contacts, notifications or local network, and it doesn't ask to track you.
Third parties
The app is built only with Apple's own tools. It doesn't include code from any other company, such as analytics, advertising, crash reporting or tracking tools.
Apple provides iOS, Apple Health and the App Store. If you have chosen in your iPhone's settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us crash reports and basic usage figures for the app. These don't identify you and don't include your health data. Apple's use of your information is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.
If you send an export or the diagnostic log to another app or service, such as Mail or a cloud storage service, that service's own privacy policy applies.
Purchases
Flex Scale & Fast is free and has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. Apple handles downloads from the App Store, and we don't receive your name, email address or payment details.
If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you include, such as a diagnostic log. We use it only to reply and to help you. Our legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in answering your message. You don't need to send us any health readings to get help.
How long information is kept
- Information on your iPhone stays there until you delete it. You can delete fasts and weights you added in the By type view on the Wins tab, clear your current goal in Settings, and remove demo data in Settings.
- Deleting the app deletes everything it stores, including your fasts. Because they aren't in iCloud or your backups, they can't be recovered afterwards unless you exported them.
- Weights the app saved to Apple Health stay in Apple Health until you delete them there.
- The diagnostic log is cleared when you close the app.
- We keep support emails while we help you and for a reasonable time afterwards, and then delete them.
Deleting your information
The app doesn't create an account, and we don't hold any information about you from the app, so there is nothing for us to delete there. To remove everything the app keeps, delete the app. Export your data first if you want to keep a copy. To remove weights the app saved to Apple Health, delete them in the Health app.
To ask us to delete emails or logs you have sent us, email support@elixircs.com with the subject "Flex Scale & Fast data deletion request".
Children
Flex Scale & Fast is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
If you're in the UK or the European Union, data protection law gives you rights over your personal information. You can ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict or stop using it, and ask for it in a portable format.
Because the app doesn't send us your information, these rights will usually apply to emails and logs you have sent us. To use them, email support@elixircs.com.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office, or to the data protection authority in the EU country where you live.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes how it handles information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
